Posted by:

Communication is vital, however, it is not essential that you only communicate verbally. Another significant and important form of communication is your body language. An imperative form of communication is determined by physical behavior, gestures, facial expression, eye movement, and body gestures.

Expressing yourself or conveying information non-verbally is a form of communication done through body language. Your body gestures are more powerful and expressive. It speaks louder than your words. Thus, it is crucial to understand body language.

In certain situations, it has been noted that body actions define a lot of characteristics of an individual. People communicate through body language without even knowing it, or rather unconsciously. An individual’s body signifies their feelings and attitude. Hence, there are a few key body languages to understand:

1. Building eye contact with your audience is a must. When you have eye contact with a smile on your face you look confident and interested. When someone shy’s away or ignores making eye contact can mean that the person is not concerned or assertive.

2. Always walk with your head held high. This is an important body language to mark. People walking with their heads facing downwards definitely provide a negative impression. It determines their inabilities and is often judged for no-confidence. When you talk with your head up, eye to eye, and a smile, the other individual can definitely not ignore you.

3. Nail-biting in public, of course, is a bad habit. Along with this, it can demonstrate stress, anxiety, or nervousness too.

4. While many of us often talk with our arms crossed over the chest, this body gesture is considered to be highly unprofessional. It indicates that an individual is being defensive or rather disagrees with the conversation.

5. Always make a clear speech even if you have to go slow. This determines your know-how and dedication, along with confidence when you speak.

Thus, these are a few body gestures that any individual should analyze for oneself or for the other as decoding the body language can define a lot of other attributes and characteristics of an individual.
